Mathias Katamba has over 25 years executive experience and has previously served as Chief Executive of 3 Commercial Banks (dfcu Bank, Housing Finance and Finance Trust), and co-founded Progression Capital Africa; an East African Financial Inclusion focused Private Equity Fund.
He is currently Chairman of Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Chairman of Old Mutual General Insurance, Board member Presidential CEO Forum (PCF), and Executive Committee member National Council of Science and Technology. He is also a consultant and Certified Professional Coach.
Mathias holds a Master of Science in Financial Management from the University of East London, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Greenwich and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
He attained executive training from INSEAD Business School (France), Blavatnik School of Government (University of Oxford), Harvard Kennedy School (Harvard University), Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania), Strathmore Business School, Lagos Business School and IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.
