Privacy and Confidentiality are paramount
INVITE project is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. The policy explains how we obtain, use and disclose personal information as is required by the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and its Regulations.
The information provided to INVITE shall only be used for the purpose of INVITE’s project activities.
Our Privacy Policy governs your visit to invite.go.ug, and explains how we collect, safeguard and disclose information that results from your use of our Service.
We use your data to provide and improve the Service and by using Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
The Information, Collection, Storage and Use
We collect, store and use the following categories of personal information:
- Personal contact details including; name, surname, title, addresses, telephone numbers and personal email addresses
- Date of birth
- Age
- Residence
- Nationality
- Place of birth
- Gender
- Marital status, family members
- Copies of ID and/or Passport and marriage certificate (where applicable)
- Details of documents on education, qualification, professional training
- Employment agreements, NDA agreements, information on bonuses and compensation
- Social security (or other taxpayer identification) number
- Office location and other data.
We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link.
Usage Data
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access Service by or through any device (“Usage Data”).
This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When you access Service with a device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of device you use, your device unique ID, the IP address of your device, your device operating system, the type of Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We collect personal information about applicants through the application and selection process, either directly from you or sometimes from an agency or background check provider. We will sometimes collect additional information from third party sources including referees (for example former employers), social media platforms, credit reference agencies or background check agencies. Where possible, we will inform you what information you are required to provide to us and what information is optional. Website usage information is collected using “cookies” which allows us to collect standard internet visitor usage information.
Use of Your Information
We will use and process your personal information as part of the application process for the INVITE PROJECT for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Service;
- To notify you about changes to our Service;
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so;
- To provide customer support;
- To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service;
- To monitor the usage of our Service;
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues;
- To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection;

Disclosure Your Information
We shall not communicate your personal information to third parties unless it is for:
- Business transactions
- Required or authorised by law, pursuant to an Act of Parliament or a Court order.
- It is disclosed to our service providers who are involved in the delivery of services (in which event we will have agreements in place with such service providers to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your personal information)
- Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public.
- Protect against legal liability.
Retention of Data
We will take reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information is not kept for longer than is necessary, unless you have consented that we may keep your personal information for longer. Your personal information will only be kept as long as required by law, or we reasonably require the record for lawful purposes.
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
User Registration
Users will voluntarily give the information requested on the web portal/website. The INVITE PROJECT (the “Service”) uses small amounts of personal or business data that users are asked to register for the implementation of the project.
Data Protection and Privacy
Personal data is not shared with external parties, and it shall be protected under the provisions of the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. The data shared through the Platform will be used internally by PSFU and World Bank.
Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
These Terms of Service and any dispute/claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes/claims) are governed by the law of the Republic of Uganda. The Courts of the Republic of Uganda have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with these Terms of Service. Users and Provider agree to these Terms of Service automatically by continuing to use and benefit from the facilities of the INVITE PROJECT.
Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of the terms herein which cannot be amicably settled between the parties shall be referred to adjudication/arbitration in accordance with the laws of Uganda.
Representations and Warranties
The Users represents and warrants to INVITE PROJECT that all factual information and that provided to the Service is made in good faith, is accurate at the time of uploading and that the User did not mention anything material which may render it untrue or misleading. If a User uploads any information or documentation to the Platform, the User warrants that it has free and unfettered use of, or has Intellectual Property Rights to, that information or documentation.
Notices and Changes to the Terms of Use
All notices or other communications to be given under these Terms of Use to any party shall be sent by e-mail. Notices shall be deemed to be received on dispatch provided that the sender has received a receipt indicating proper transmission.
