Business Development Services are provided to exporting firms of manufactured and semi manufactured products planning to increase exports to, or identify new high-value markets. Eligible firms receive expert advice on developing export strategies, product improvement standards and certification etc. This is to increase their market share and value in export markets.
The ESF targets private business entities that are legally established and headquartered in Uganda and with business interests in the targeted manufacturing and semi-manufacturing sectors. The EFS helps exporters and potential exporters with the assistance of local and international consultants to identify export opportunities and meet consumer demand through specialized technical assistance and capacity-building activities.
The EFS provides a reimbursement of between US$2,000 and US$10,000 depending on the exporting needs of the firm. The reimbursement is intended to pay for local export consultants or certification and other forms of technical assistance to implement the export plan. A reimbursement will not exceed 80% of the firm’s costs for the services.
