Keith Kalyegira is a Ugandan Strategic Advisor on Institutional Development, Pensions and Investment Management professional. He is currently the Board Chairman ABSA Bank Uganda, a board member of Airtel Uganda and Q-Sourcing Uganda, and a Trustee of Alliance for Bioversity International & CIAT. He is the immediate past Chief Executive of the Capital Markets Authority, the organisation responsible for regulating the securities market industry in Uganda.
Keith has previously worked in the Privatization Unit (Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development); First Renaissance Securities – a boutique financial advisory firm during which he served on the Governing Council of the Uganda Securities Exchange; as well as advising on institutional reforms in the electricity and water sectors of Zanzibar, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. He has served on the board of several state-owned enterprises in Uganda and prior to this, he worked with the downstream fuel business of Shell in Uganda and South Africa.
He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from Makerere University in Uganda and an MBA from University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Keith is married and a father of three, a social golfer, swimmer and squash player.
